The waterfall is formed by the Afon Goch (Red River) plunging approximately 120 feet (37 meters) over a sill of igneous rock in the foothills of the Carneddau range.
The postcode for this car park is LL33 0LP. If this car park is full, there is alternative parking at the bottom of the village, which adds about a mile to your walk. From the car park, you’ll find a well-marked trailhead. There are both upper and lower car parks, and the trail starts from either one. Follow the Main Path: The path to Aber Falls is about 2.2 km (1.4 miles) each way, making it a 4.4 km (2.75 miles) round trip. The trail is well-maintained, mostly gravel and concrete, and is relatively flat with a gentle incline. Enjoy the Scenery: As you walk, you’ll pass through beautiful woodland and open meadows. Keep an eye out for Bronze Age settlements, standing stones, and cairns along the way. Cross the Bridge: Near the end of the trail, you’ll cross a small bridge over the river. From here, you can already hear the waterfall. Reach the Falls: Continue on the path, and you’ll soon arrive at Aber Falls. There are plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the view or have a picnic.
