Llyn Ogwen is steeped in legend and history. It is said to be the final resting place of King Arthur’s legendary sword, Excalibur, cast into its waters by Sir Bedivere. This myth adds a touch of magic to the already enchanting landscape.

 

There are several parking options near Llyn Ogwen:

Ogwen Cottage Car Park: This is the closest and most convenient option, located right by the Ogwen Centre.

The postcode is LL57 3LZ.

It is a pay-and-display car park, so be sure to bring some change.

Lay-bys along the A5: There are a few lay-bys along the A5 road where you can park for free, but these can fill up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays.

Cwm Idwal Car Park: Another nearby option is the Cwm Idwal car park, which is also a pay-and-display.

It’s a good idea to arrive early, especially during peak times, to secure a spot.
